Wiesbaden faces wave of violent assaults, vandalism and illegal street racing
Wiesbaden police are investigating multiple incidents across the city over the past week. The cases include property damage, violent assaults, and illegal street racing. Authorities have called on witnesses to come forward with any information.
Between Tuesday, 26.08.2025, 8:00 PM and Friday, 29.08.2025, 11:00 PM, unknown individuals attempted to break into a parked car in Klarenthaler StraĂe. The rear window was smashed, but no further details about stolen items have been released. Police are treating the case as attempted theft and property damage.
A separate act of vandalism occurred in Hirschgraben between Wednesday, 27.08.2025, 6:30 PM and Saturday, 30.08.2025, 5:00 PM. A carâs driverâs side and rear left fender were deeply scratched, causing damage estimated in the high four-figure range. No suspects have been identified, and no video evidence is available. On Saturday, 30.08.2025, around 02:50 AM, two men were attacked at Drei-Lilien-Platz. A group of six to eight people, aged around 20, used pepper spray before physically assaulting the victims. Both men suffered injuries, and police are investigating for dangerous bodily harm. Early on Sunday, 31.08.2025, at approximately 02:10 AM, officers responded to a disturbance on school grounds in Bierstadter Hohe. A person acting aggressively resisted police and was later taken to a psychiatric clinic for evaluation. Just hours earlier, at around 12:05 AM, two drivers were caught racing at high speeds in Mainz-Kastel, Ludwigsrampe. They repeatedly overtook other vehicles on both sides of the road, posing a serious risk to traffic. Proceedings have been initiated against both drivers, and their licences have been temporarily suspended.
