Hit-and-run, burglary, and arson strike Hanau and Linsengericht in 24 hours

A series of incidents occurred across the Hanau and Linsengericht areas late on Tuesday and early Wednesday. Damage and theft were reported, with police investigating multiple cases involving arson, a hit-and-run, and a burglary.

The first incident took place on Tuesday morning at around 5:15 a.m. A white-cab articulated lorry was involved in an accident on the A66 motorway toward Fulda, near the Gelnhausen-West junction. The driver did not stop and fled the scene, leaving behind a damaged trailer belonging to another vehicle. The cost of the damage was estimated at around €1,500.

Later that day, between 3 p.m. and 9:55 p.m., unknown burglars broke into a multi-family home on Gartenstraße in Linsengericht. They stole various items and caused several hundred euros in damage before leaving the scene. Early Wednesday, at approximately 2:55 a.m., several planters on the terrace of a restaurant in Otto-Hahn-Straße in Hanau were deliberately set on fire. The blaze caused around €1,500 in damage, prompting an investigation into the incident.

Authorities are now examining the circumstances behind each case. The hit-and-run driver remains unidentified, while the burglary and arson incidents are under active investigation. The total financial impact of the events has reached several thousand euros in combined damages.
