Wiesbaden emergency crews battle 48 hours of chaos and crashes

Wiesbaden’s emergency services faced a hectic 48 hours after responding to multiple incidents on Thursday and Friday. Among the most serious was a traffic collision in the Rheingau district on Friday afternoon, leaving three people injured.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Kurt-Schumacher-Ring and Klarenthaler Straße. Two vehicles collided, causing one car to flip onto its roof. One person suffered serious injuries, while two others sustained moderate harm. Police are now investigating the cause of the crash.

Earlier on Friday, a motorcyclist crashed on the A66 highway. Later, crews handled several minor fires, false alarms, and another vehicle rollover in Schierstein, which injured three more people. On Thursday, a woman in Sonnenberg fell through the rotting floor of her second-story balcony. She was taken to hospital with moderate injuries. Emergency teams responded swiftly to the Rheingau crash, sending four ambulances, two emergency physician vehicles, and a rescue service incident command team.

The two-day stretch saw Wiesbaden’s fire and rescue services stretched thin. Multiple incidents—from traffic collisions to structural failures—kept crews busy. Investigations into the causes of the accidents remain ongoing.
