Violent assault, thefts, and child accident shock Offenbach district in days

Several incidents have been reported across the Offenbach district over the past few days. Police are investigating a series of thefts, an assault, and a road accident involving a child. Authorities also conducted speed checks near schools to improve safety in high-risk areas.

On Thursday afternoon, a 14-year-old boy was attacked near Mathildenschule in Offenbach. A teenager wearing a blue t-shirt and with blond hair approached him before punching and pushing him to the ground. Two other youths, both around 1.60 metres tall, then took turns kicking and punching the victim while he lay helpless. Witnesses saw the assault and called for help, but the attackers fled the scene.

A seven-year-old girl suffered minor leg injuries after being hit by a Ford Fiesta while crossing a street in Langen. The child was taken for medical checks, though her injuries were not serious. In separate thefts, unknown individuals broke into a garden shed on Silberweg in Dreieich and stole two high-value bicycles worth around €3,000. Meanwhile, burglars targeted a residential building in Hans-Böckler-Straße, Neu-Isenburg, making off with an e-bike and tools. Another theft occurred when a driver left his Audi Q5 parked on Frankfurter Straße in Neu-Isenburg—cash was taken from the centre console. To address road safety concerns, police carried out speed checks near schools on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Under the campaign *‘Blitz for Kids’*, three control points were set up, leading to 90 recorded speeding offences. Students handed out green and yellow cards to drivers, reinforcing awareness of the dangers around school zones.

The assault in Offenbach remains under investigation, with police searching for the attackers. The injured child in Langen has received treatment, while stolen property from multiple thefts has yet to be recovered. Speed enforcement near schools will continue as part of ongoing efforts to protect young pedestrians.
