SchlĂźtersche Media Group CEO Ingo Mahl steps down after two years of growth
The SchlĂźtersche Media Group is undergoing a leadership change as CEO Ingo Mahl prepares to step down. After joining in late 2021, he will leave the Hanover-based company at his own request by the end of 2023. The transition follows a period of growth and restructuring under his leadership. Mahl took charge of SchlĂźtersche in autumn 2021 and oversaw the development of the SchlĂźtersche 2027 strategy. This plan drove the groupâs digital transformation and pushed revenue from âŹ58 million to over âŹ80 million. The company specialises in B2B media, covering sectors like manufacturing, veterinary medicine, and automotive industries.
The Heise Group, also based in Hanover, became the majority shareholder of SchlĂźtersche at the end of 2022. As part of the restructuring, Ansgar Heiseâpreviously publisher of Heise and chairman of SchlĂźterscheâs advisory boardâwill take over as sole managing director in May 2023. He intends to work alongside the existing management team established by Mahl. Oliver-Till Dieckhaus, an authorised officer of the Heise Group, will replace Heise as chairman of the advisory board. The changes mark a shift in leadership while maintaining the strategic direction set under Mahlâs tenure.
Mahlâs departure concludes a two-year period of growth for SchlĂźtersche. The companyâs revenue has risen significantly, and its digital strategy remains in place. With Heise and Dieckhaus taking on new roles, the group will continue its focus on B2B media under the Heise Groupâs majority ownership.
