Marburg: Two suspects arrested after car break-ins

Saturday afternoon (13th September), police arrested two suspected thieves on the clinic grounds in Baldingerstraße after three car break-ins.

Around 11:15 AM, the security service reported the break-ins of three vehicles in the parking lots of the UKGM. They also pursued and detained a suspect, a 21-year-old from Marburg, until the police arrived.

On the way to the clinic, another patrol arrested the second suspect, a 28-year-old homeless man, at a bus stop.

The officers seized cash cards, clothing items from the suspects, and a backpack found nearby, which could be stolen goods. Investigations are ongoing regarding this.

Additionally, an officer found a handbag in a trash can that had been stolen from one of the vehicles and returned it to the owner.

The police took the arrested duo to the station. After consulting with the public prosecutor's office in Marburg, the police released the men due to lack of detention grounds and after completing the police measures.

To make it harder for car thieves, the police advise: Don't leave any valuables in your car - not even in the trunk.
