Police and Prosecutors Raid Multiple Locations in Offenbach District After String of Burglaries in Dietzenbach

Following a series of residential break-ins in Dietzenbach, police and prosecutors conducted multiple raids in the Offenbach district on the morning of Wednesday, April 1. The operation is part of an investigation into suspected organized commercial burglary and residential break-ins carried out by a criminal gang.

According to current findings, a large number of burglaries occurred in Dietzenbach between the summer of 2024 and the spring of 2026. Due to similarities in the methods used, authorities are examining whether the crimes are connected.

Manhole Covers, Stones, and 'Sticks' Used as Markers

Investigators report that heavy objects—such as manhole covers and stones—were allegedly used to force entry into homes. Additionally, small sticks were reportedly placed near access points, such as front doors. Authorities believe these may have been used to scout and mark potential targets.

Four Suspects Under Investigation

As part of the probe, four individuals are suspected of involvement in the crimes during the specified period. One of the suspects has been in pretrial detention since February 2026 in connection with a separate case. The other three suspects, aged 23 to 25, had their properties searched on Wednesday morning.

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities working to determine how many of the offenses can be directly attributed to the suspects.

Jewelry Store Also Searched

In addition to the raids on the suspects' properties, a jewelry store in a shopping center in the Offenbach district was searched. There are indications that some of the allegedly stolen goods may have been purchased or resold there.
