String of car break-ins and home burglary attempts rattles German towns

Butzbach: Burglars Fail at House Door
Two unknown individuals attempted to break into a single-family house in the 'Alte Wetzlarer Straße' in Butzbach during the night of Friday (26.09.2025) around 01:15 AM. The perpetrators tried to break down the front door but failed and had to leave empty-handed. They were spotted by witnesses during their escape. Both are described as slim and wearing dark hoodies. One wore a blue jeans, the other a dark pants. Each carried a backpack. The Criminal Police asks: Who observed the crime? Who noticed the two described men in Butzbach on Friday night? Limeshain: Thieves Target Unlocked Cars
Thieves targeted several unlocked cars in Limeshain during the night from Thursday (25.09.2025) to Friday (26.09.2025). In Rommelhausen, between 7:30 PM and 5:40 AM, they opened two Fords in the Limesstraße and Talweg, stealing a wallet, cigarettes, and two pairs of football shoes. They also struck in Himbach, rummaging through a Mini Cooper, a Nissan Qashqai, and an Audi A5 in the Dolmenring and Drususring, making off with only loose change from the center console. Witnesses who noticed suspicious persons that night are asked to contact the police station in Büdingen (Tel.: 06042 96480). The police advise always ensuring your car is locked when leaving and avoiding leaving valuable items inside. Even small items like coins in the center console can attract thieves. Lock your cars and reduce the chances of theft.
Ortenberg: Window Smashed
In the Lissberger Straße in Eckartsborn, a thief smashed the window of a black Audi A4 between Thursday (25.09.2025), 4:00 PM and Friday (26.09.2025), 6:00 AM, stealing a wallet with cash, bank cards, and ID documents. Suspicious observations can be reported to the Büdingen police at 06042 96480.
