Man arrested in Darmstadt after breaking into parked cars

Darmstadt (ots) — On Friday evening (September 19), alert witnesses spotted a man in Kahlertstraße trying to open several parked cars. Around 8:30 p.m., the suspect headed toward Herrngarten, where he noticed an unlocked vehicle and got inside. A police patrol, already alerted to the incident, apprehended the 36-year-old while he was still in the car.

Criminal investigators are now determining whether any items were stolen from the vehicles. The suspect will face charges of attempted theft from motor vehicles.
