Spangenberg homeowner foils early-morning break-in attempt on Waldstraße

A break-in attempt in Spangenberg was thwarted early on Monday morning. Unknown individuals tried to enter a home on Waldstraße but fled when the homeowner noticed them. The Criminal Police in Homberg/Efze have now taken over the case. The incident took place at around 3:15 am on 1 September 2025. The perpetrators targeted a residential building on Waldstraße, attempting to force their way in through a window. Their actions disturbed the insect screen, alerting the homeowner to their presence.

Once discovered, the intruders abandoned their attempt and left the scene. No entry was made, and no items were reported missing. Authorities are now investigating the failed break-in and searching for witnesses or further leads. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 05681/774-0.

The attempted burglary remains under investigation by the Criminal Police. Residents in the area have been advised to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The homeowner escaped unharmed, and no damage beyond the disturbed screen was reported.
