Melsungen church hit by another vandalism attack on sacred items

Time of offense: Saturday, September 6, 2025, between 11:30 AM and 7:00 PM
On Saturday, September 6, 2025, between 11:30 AM and 7:00 PM, unknown perpetrators damaged a baptismal candle inside Melsungen's town church.
According to current findings, the suspects entered the freely accessible church and knocked the candle from a heavy wooden stand, causing it to shatter.
Additionally, in the so-called "Quiet Corner" area, a donation box was vandalized. The culprits burned matches there, dripped candle wax onto the box, and partially charred a pencil.
The total property damage amounts to approximately ā¬120.
Given that the church has experienced repeated acts of vandalism in recent weeks, the congregation has filed a criminal complaint.
Melsungen Police Station has launched an investigation.
