Wiesbaden's welfare offices close for a day, leaving residents stranded
Several key social welfare offices in Wiesbaden will shut their doors on Thursday, November 20. The closure affects multiple locations, leaving residents without in-person or phone support for the day. The Material Benefits Department, which oversees social assistance under SGB XII, will be closed due to an internal event. Divisions responsible for residential and specialised housing support will also remain unstaffed.
The shutdown extends to the Social Benefits and Job Center at Konradinerallee 11. Branch offices at Schwalbacher Straße 26, Dotzheimer Straße 99, Hagenauer Straße 44, and Kreuzberger Ring 7a will follow suit. No emergency services will be available. Only urgent cases can be addressed through a central hotline at (0611) 31-3826. All other enquiries will go unanswered until operations return to normal the next day.
Residents needing assistance on November 20 will have limited options. The hotline remains the sole point of contact for critical matters. Regular services will restart on Friday, November 21.
