Wiesbaden's Äppelallee roadworks to snarl traffic and buses for months
Major roadworks on Äppelallee in Wiesbaden will disrupt traffic and bus services from 4 May to 14 August. Drivers and public transport users are being warned to expect delays and plan extra time for their journeys. Several bus routes will be altered, with some stops temporarily suspended during the construction period. From the start of the works, Äppelallee will be reduced to a single lane in each direction between Albert-Schweitzer-Allee and Hagenauer Straße. Motorists will also face road closures, including the turn from Hagenauer Straße onto Äppelallee and access to Albert-Schweitzer-Allee from Äppelallee.
Bus services will see significant changes. **Lines 14 and N3 will skip stops** between *Schloss Biebrich* and *Friedrich-Bergius-Straße* in both directions, with *Paul-Ehrlich-Straße*, *Nansenstraße*, and *Elsa-Brändström-Straße* temporarily closed. A **shuttle service** will run near the Parkfeld area, offering connections to lines 4 and 14 at *Robert-Krekel-Anlage* and *Herzogsplatz*. Meanwhile, **lines 47 and 74 will be rerouted** from *Friedrich-Bergius-Straße* via *Im Rosenfeld* and *Albert-Schweitzer-Allee* towards the main train station. Stops along their usual path will not be served during the diversion.
The construction is set to last until mid-August, with traffic restrictions and bus diversions remaining in place throughout. Commuters are advised to check updated timetables and consider alternative routes where possible. The city has urged all travellers to allow additional time for their trips during the works.
