Wiesbaden's 2026 local elections confirm CDU victory amid 48% voter turnout
The final results of Wiesbaden's local elections have now been confirmed. Officials verified the outcomes for the city council, 26 local councils, and the foreign residents' council on March 27, 2026. Turnout reached 48.09%, with nearly 100,000 residents casting their votes. A total of 7,550,084 valid ballots were counted, alongside 3,380 invalid ones. The CDU secured the highest share, winning 26.5% of the vote and 21 seats. SPD followed with 22.3% and 18 seats, while the Green Party took 15.2%, earning 12 seats.
AfD gained 11.9% of the vote, resulting in 10 seats. The Left received 7.8% and 6 seats, Volt won 4.4% and 4 seats, and The Party claimed 0.5%, enough for a single seat. Wiesbaden's election covered 163 general and 84 absentee districts. The eligible voter count stood at 207,874, with 99,964 participating in the process.
The confirmed figures now set the composition of Wiesbaden's city council and local bodies. Each party's seat allocation reflects the verified vote totals, finalising the political landscape for the coming term.
