Wiesbaden adjusts waste collection over Easter holidays
Waste collection in Wiesbaden will see temporary changes over the Easter holidays. The city's Municipal Waste Management Services (ELW) has adjusted pickup days to account for the public holidays. Residents are advised to check the revised schedule to avoid missed collections.
The shifts begin with Monday, March 30 collections moved to Saturday, March 28. Tuesday's pickup will then take place on Monday, March 30, while Wednesday's service shifts to Tuesday, March 31.
Further adjustments follow on Thursday, April 2, when collections move to Wednesday, April 1. Friday's pickup will occur a day early, on Thursday, April 2. After Easter, all services will return to their usual schedule, shifting back by one day. ELW, formed on January 1, 1997, through the merger of former waste departments, manages all waste disposal in Wiesbaden. During the holiday period, the ELW Service Center will remain open on Maundy Thursday, April 2, and Tuesday, April 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The temporary changes aim to maintain waste services despite the Easter break. Residents should note the adjusted dates to ensure bins are out on the correct days. Normal collection routines will resume immediately after the holiday weekend.
