(rk) Early Sunday morning, several police officers in Limburg were attacked while taking a report.

At 05:40, a 51-year-old man contacted the Limburg police and reported that he had just been spat on and physically attacked by a young man at the Bahnhofsplatz. The attacker was still in the immediate vicinity. A patrol was dispatched to the Bahnhofsplatz to investigate the incident. There, a 22-year-old man from the Rhein-Lahn district was found, whom the 51-year-old identified as the attacker. During the identification process, the man was uncooperative and attempted to flee the control area. A patrol from the Federal Police also arrived and tried to prevent the man from escaping. Due to the man's aggressive behavior, additional support was requested from the Limburg police station. The man suddenly started hitting and kicking the officers during the control, and was then temporarily arrested and taken into custody at the Limburg police station. After the completion of the police measures and his sobering up, he was released. Several investigations are now pending against him.

At 00:25, a 37-year-old man from Elz insulted a 15-year-old from Hadamar in a hateful manner and did not calm down despite the arrival of a patrol. The man was taken to the station to enforce a issued ban and was then picked up by relatives. The Limburg Criminal Police have initiated investigations.

4.Fatal motorcycle accident,

(sch) On Saturday afternoon, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the Landesstraße 3021 between Elkerhausen and Weinbach.

At around 17:22, a 63-year-old man from Frankfurt am Main was traveling on his Triumph motorcycle from Elkerhausen towards Weinbach. In a slight curve, he ended up on the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming motorcycle rider, a 59-year-old man from Weilminster riding a Yamaha. The 63-year-old was fatally injured in the accident. His counterpart suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. An expert was called in to clarify the course of the accident. The Landesstraße was fully closed for about 3 hours. Both motorcycles were severely damaged in the collision, with total damage estimated at around 22,000 EUR.

5.Traffic accident under the influence of alcohol,

(sch) On Saturday evening, there was a traffic accident on the federal road 49 where a drunk driver lightly collided with an ambulance.

At 22:29, a 41-year-old man from Limburg was driving a black 3-series BMW on the federal road 49 towards Wetzlar. Between the exits Heckholzhausen Ost and Merenberg - Allendorf, the BMW was noticed by other road users due to its dangerous slow driving. Shortly after, the car stopped on the two-lane federal road. An ambulance that happened to be nearby also slowed down. While the paramedics got out, the BMW moved again and lightly collided with the rear of the ambulance.

No one was injured in the collision. There was minor property damage. It was later found that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, so a blood test was taken.

(rk) On Sunday morning, there was a drunk driving incident on the federal road 49 between Ahlbach and Obertiefenbach.

During a patrol, officers noticed an Audi estate car with a Romanian license plate that repeatedly crossed the center line and overtaking other road users at high speed and suddenly. Therefore, the patrol decided to stop the vehicle for a check. The officers could smell strong alcohol on the 38-year-old man from Rheinbach. A voluntary breath test confirmed the suspicion of alcohol consumption, so the man was taken to the station for a blood test. Since the man also did not have a valid driver's license, he now faces not only an investigation for drunk driving but also one for driving without a license.
