Weekend crime spree leaves towns reeling from thefts and vandalism

Weekend crime spree leaves towns reeling from thefts and vandalism

A series of incidents took place across several towns over the weekend. Police reported thefts, vandalism, and an attack involving a dog. The events occurred between Friday evening and Sunday night.

On Friday (08.08.), an e-scooter worth around 280 euros was stolen from Eselswörth street in Lauterbach between 9:40 AM and 10:35 AM. Later that same morning, a 62-year-old woman was injured after an unknown dog allegedly attacked her on Schaufußgasse street in Alsfeld around 11:30 AM.

Between Friday evening and Saturday morning (08.08. – 09.08.), unknown individuals broke into a liquor store on Herrngartenstraße in Schlitz. The break-in caused roughly 5,000 euros in damage. Early on Saturday (09.08.), a trash can fire in front of a multi-family house on Blitzenroder street in Lauterbach resulted in about 850 euros of damage. The blaze was reported around 4:45 AM. Later that day, an e-bike valued at approximately 1,560 euros was stolen from August-Gluck-Straße in Rimbach. On Sunday evening (10.08.), three unknown perpetrators stole around 100 euros from the cash register of the Kleebrunnenhof on Am Kleebrunnen street in Liederbach. The theft took place at about 8:10 PM.

Authorities are investigating each incident separately. The stolen items include an e-scooter, an e-bike, and cash, while the break-in and fire caused significant property damage. The injured woman in Alsfeld received medical attention following the dog attack.
