Wiesbaden's Senior Week returns with entertainment and community events

The 31st Senior Week of the Senior Council will run in Wiesbaden from September 15 to 20. Organised under the patronage of Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende, the event offers a mix of entertainment, excursions, and social activities for older residents. Registration for individual activities opens on August 18. The week begins with a kickoff event in the Great Festival Hall of the Town Hall on Monday, September 15, from 3 to 5 pm. Angelika Dortmann, chairwoman of the Senior Council, will deliver the welcome speech. Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende, City Council President Dr. Gerhard Obermayr, and Social Affairs Commissioner Dr. Patricia Becher will also address attendees.

From Tuesday to Friday, participants can choose from a range of activities. Options include Bingo, a wine tasting session, a trip to Hessenpark, and a guided tour through the city forest. A live concert by the 'Boys of 69' will also take place at the Bürgerhaus Sonnenberg, located at König-Adolf-Straße 6.

The programme aims to provide varied experiences for seniors in the city. Those interested can sign up for specific events starting August 18. The week’s activities are designed to foster community engagement and leisure for older adults.
