Mühltal fire destroys homes as police probe possible arson

A fire broke out in Mühltal’s Stiftstraße early on Tuesday morning (12.8.). The blaze began in a shed before spreading to two nearby homes. Authorities are now examining whether the incident was deliberate.

Firefighters arrived quickly to tackle the flames. They managed to bring the situation under control and fully extinguish the fire. Despite their efforts, the damage to property is estimated to be in the high five-figure range.

The Specialist Commission 10 of Darmstadt’s Criminal Police has taken over the investigation. While the exact cause remains unclear, officials have not ruled out arson. Witnesses who saw anything unusual in the area are urged to come forward. Residents with information can contact the police directly on 06151 / 969 - 0.

The incident has left two homes and a shed damaged. Investigators continue to gather evidence to determine how the fire started. Police are still appealing for any leads from the public.
