Weekend crime spree leaves Main-Kinzig district reeling from violence and theft

- Thieves steal five-figure sum: Witnesses sought! - Hanau
(kl) Unknown persons gained access to an apartment in a multi-family building on Gallienstraße (10s house numbers) via the terrace door and stole a five-figure sum of money. The burglars initially pushed up the lowered roller shutter of the terrace door and then forced the door open. In the apartment, the perpetrators found the cash and fled shortly after. The time of the crime is currently estimated to be between Saturday, 0.45 AM, and Sunday, 9.40 PM. The Criminal Police asks for tips under the number 06181 100-123.
- Arrest of a 37-year-old: Officers physically attacked - Hammersbach
(fg) Several calls about a disruptive market visitor reached the police on Saturday evening; shortly before 8 PM, police officers who arrived at the scene provisionally arrested a 37-year-old who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol in the street "Am Lachbach" (single-digit house numbers) in the area of the local supermarket. The detainee behaved aggressively and also became agitated. Previously, the suspect had harassed customers in the supermarket; however, no one was injured. During the arrest and also in the patrol car, the 37-year-old continuously insulted the officers, kicked at them, and spat in their direction. A criminal proceeding is now pending against the suspect, who also had an arrest warrant out against him, for the suspected offense of resisting enforcement officers. He was taken to the station, where a blood sample was also taken. Further investigations are currently ongoing.
- Mercedes scratched: Who saw something? - Gelnhausen
(cb) After unknown persons presumably scratched a black Mercedes with a sharp object and caused approximately 1,000 euros in damage, investigators are now seeking witnesses to the property damage. The vehicle owner parked her black car with a BUD license plate on the parking lot in Bahnhofstraße around 5 PM. When she returned to her vehicle about 30 minutes later, she discovered scratches on the engine hood and the passenger side. Additionally, the perpetrators stole a wheel hub cap. Witness statements can be made to the police in Gelnhausen under the number 06051 827-0.
- BMW leaves the road: One person slightly injured - Schlüchtern
(cb) A 29-year-old BMW driver came off the road for unknown reasons on Saturday afternoon on the district road 946 in the direction of Hohenzell and was slightly injured. According to current information, the 3-series BMW spun out after a right curve, crossed the curb, grazed a traffic post, and collided with a tree. Due to the impact, the blue car was thrown over the road into the opposite ditch and came to a stop there. The driver suffered minor cuts and had to be treated in a hospital. The BMW was no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The total material damage is estimated at approximately 5,600 euros. Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact the police station in Schlüchtern under the number 06661 9610-0.
