Oberaula – Time of the incident: Thursday, September 25, 2025, around 12:00 AM

In the early hours of Thursday morning, unknown perpetrators stole a car in Friedigerode, a district of Oberaula.

According to initial findings, the owner had parked his vehicle—a gray Toyota Land Cruiser—near his home on Biegeweg.

The thieves gained access to the car by unknown means and tampered with the locking and ignition systems. Investigators currently believe they used specialized technology to bypass the vehicle's keyless entry system.

At the time of the theft, the car bore the license plate HR-M 289.

The stolen SUV is valued in the high five-figure range.

Homberg Criminal Police have taken over the investigation and urge anyone who may have seen suspicious individuals or vehicles in Friedigerode during the night of the crime to come forward by calling 05681/774-0.
