Fast-Charging Provider Fastned Cuts Ad-Hoc Pricing in Germany from April 2026

Fastned, the rapid-charging network operator, will lower its ad-hoc charging rate in Germany from €0.73 to €0.69 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) starting April 1, 2026. According to the Dutch company, the primary driver behind this reduction is the decline in grid fees resulting from a federal subsidy set to take effect in 2026—a cost saving it aims to pass on to customers.

Additionally, customers charging via the Fastned app will receive a 10% discount on the ad-hoc rate if they set a bank or credit card as their primary payment method, with no subscription required. Regular users can also benefit from Fastned's "Gold" membership, which offers a rate of €0.48 per kWh for a monthly fee of €11.99.

"An appealing charging experience isn't just about great design and reliability—it's also about fair pricing. Thanks to lower grid fees, we can now offer a reduced rate in Germany from April 1, making fast charging more attractive to even more people," said Linda Boll, Country Director for Fastned Germany.

The new ad-hoc rate applies exclusively to Germany. Pricing in other markets where Fastned operates may differ. However, according to the industry portal Electrive, the company has also announced a price cut in Denmark, reducing its ad-hoc rate from DKK 4.99 to DKK 3.79 per kWh as of April 1.

Meanwhile, charging with Fastned will become more expensive in Belgium, France, and Switzerland. In Belgium, the ad-hoc rate will rise from €0.73 to €0.77 per kWh; in France, from €0.59 to €0.61 per kWh; and in Switzerland, from 73 to 75 rappen per kWh.

In January, Fastned announced that it had expanded its network to over 400 fast-charging stations. The company now operates more than 400 locations across nine European countries, including the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Denmark, and—most recently—Spain and Italy.
