Undercover police bust drugs, weapons, and stolen e-scooter in Rüsselsheim raids

Police in Rüsselsheim carried out undercover patrols in the city centre and Verna Park on Thursday, August 21. Officers checked 21 people, launched several criminal investigations, and made multiple seizures—including drugs, a weapon, and a stolen e-scooter. Plainclothes officers focused on Europaplatz and Löwenplatz during the operation. At Europaplatz, they confiscated a stolen e-scooter from one man. Another individual, aged 34, is now under investigation for suspected cannabis trafficking at Löwenplatz.

A 32-year-old was caught with a pocketknife in a zone where weapons are banned. Meanwhile, a different man at Europaplatz was found with over 100 grams of hashish, 66 tablets of a strong prescription painkiller, and a precision scale. The Darmstadt Police Headquarters Press Office has confirmed the details and provided contact information for media follow-ups.

The operation led to multiple criminal proceedings and the seizure of illegal items. Authorities have not yet released further details on the ongoing investigations. The patrols were part of broader efforts to monitor public spaces in Rüsselsheim.
