Six Volkswagen cars targeted in overnight Baunatal break-ins

Between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, unknown individuals broke into a total of six cars in Baunatal-Altenritte and stole the built-in navigation devices. In one case, a suspicious man was observed who is likely connected to the incidents, with the estimated value of the stolen goods being several thousand euros. The Regional Investigation Group of the Kassel Police asks witnesses and informants to call 0561 - 9100.
Yesterday morning at around 7 a.m., the owner of a VW Sharan reported that his vehicle, parked on Wilhelmshöher Straße, had been opened during the night. Other affected individuals then also reported that the unknown perpetrators were targeting built-in navigation systems. The other crime scenes were located on Waldstraße, Friedhofstraße, Sandweg, and the streets "Hinter dem Siegen" and "Am Lohkuppel", with the perpetrators targeting VW vehicles exclusively. A man was seen on Wilhelmshöher Straße around 2 a.m., who is currently suspected of being connected to the incidents. The person had a full beard and was wearing a dark blue jacket, black pants, and a black baseball cap.
