Russian court orders Stalmost PJSC to pay over 528,000 rubles for unpaid recruitment fees
A Russian court has ordered Stalmost PJSC to pay nearly 530,000 rubles to a recruitment agency over an unpaid invoice. The dispute centres on a contract for hiring foreign workers, which the company failed to settle. The ruling includes penalties, interest, and legal costs on top of the original debt. The case began after Stalmost PJSC signed a personnel recruitment agreement with Informatsionno-Kadrovaya Sluzhba LLC on October 17, 2024. Under the deal, the agency was to find qualified foreign workers for 15,000 rubles per successful hire.
The recruitment firm selected 30 Indian citizens across three specialties, all of whom received job offers after Stalmost PJSC approved them. Despite this, the company did not pay the invoiced amount of 450,000 rubles.
The Arbitration Court of Primorsky Krai reviewed the case and confirmed the validity of the debt. It ordered Stalmost PJSC to cover the principal sum, 48,500 rubles in interest, and 48,468.10 rubles in penalties. An additional 29,923 rubles were awarded for legal expenses related to state duties.
The total amount due now exceeds 528,000 rubles. Stalmost PJSC retains the right to appeal the decision through standard legal channels. The courtâs decision enforces payment of the full debt, interest, and additional costs. Stalmost PJSC must comply unless it successfully challenges the ruling on appeal. The case highlights the legal consequences of unpaid commercial contracts in Russia.
