New Crisis Preparedness Guide Empowers SMEs to Build Resilience
New Guide Helps SMEs Strengthen Business Resilience and Crisis Preparedness
According to a press release from the chamber, the guide is aimed specifically at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering practical recommendations to bolster operational resilience and providing a step-by-step walkthrough of key tasks in modern crisis and emergency planning. Topics covered include defining roles and responsibilities, preparing emergency communications, analyzing supply chains, safeguarding critical infrastructure, protecting against cyberattacks, and establishing succession planning and workforce management. The brochure was developed jointly by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the German Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK).
Structured Emergency Preparedness Plan for Businesses in the Braunschweig Region
The crisis preparedness plan for the Braunschweig Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) was implemented under the leadership of Nikolas Lange, first deputy chief executive and head of administration and finance, alongside IHK Vice President Astrid Striese. "The preparedness plan is systematically structured and tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses," Lange explained. "It can be used immediately without prior expertise and adapted to each company's specific circumstances."
Astrid Striese brings a wealth of international crisis management experienceâincluding handling pandemic and supply chain risksâcombined with years of expertise in security policy networks. She applies this knowledge at the intersection of business and public safety, serving as a resource on resilience, preparedness, and crisis response for both municipal and civil-military cooperation.
