Freshfields elevates 20 new counsels with focus on tech and dispute resolution
Frankfurt/Vienna. Global law firm Freshfields has promoted 20 new counsels worldwide, including five in Germany and Austria.
The promotions, announced in a press release, will take effect at the start of the new financial year on May 1, 2026.
The Promotions in Vienna
- Matthias Hofer has been named counsel in Vienna, where he is part of the Dispute Resolution practice group. His work focuses on IP and technology law, platform regulation, and digital consumer rights. He represents and advises clients in strategic litigation, arbitration, and IP-driven transactions and projects, particularly in the tech, media, telecommunications, and automotive sectors.
- Noë Zamani has also been promoted to counsel in Vienna, where he is part of the Global Transactions practice group. His advisory work centers on venture capital, growth companies, and M&A, with a particular focus on the tech, life sciences, defense, and automotive industries. According to the firm, his transactional practice has an international scope, with an emphasis on Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East.
