Man arrested after vandalizing parked cars and pepper-spray confrontation

A 40-year-old man was arrested in Gross-Umstadt on Wednesday evening (August 27) after allegedly damaging several parked cars. Police took him into custody following reports from witnesses at around 6 p.m. The suspect is accused of kicking off the side mirrors of multiple vehicles. Before officers arrived, he became involved in a confrontation with a 29-year-old witness. During the altercation, the witness used pepper spray against him.

Officers from Dieburg police station apprehended the man in Albert-Einstein-Straße. He was then taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The total extent of the property damage is still being assessed. Criminal police have now launched an investigation into the incident.

The arrested man remains in provisional custody while inquiries continue. Authorities are examining the full scale of the damage caused to the vehicles. Further details will follow as the investigation progresses.
