Lahn-Dill region hit by hit-and-run, break-in and drunk-driving crashes in days

Dietzhölztal-Straßebersbach: Trailer damaged and driver fled
The police are searching for a black 3-series BMW Touring after a hit-and-run accident. The BMW driver was traveling on the main road (L1571) from Rittershausen towards Ewersbach last Wednesday (24.09.2025). At house number 169, he collided with a trailer parked on the side of the road. Both the trailer and the black 3-series were damaged. The police estimate the damage to the Stemme trailer at 5,000 euros. The driver fled without caring for the damage caused. The police are asking for tips: Who witnessed the accident around 20:05? Who can provide information about the driver? Who can provide information about the 3-series Touring E90 / E91, which had no license plates? The BMW was severely damaged on the front right side, the bumper, and the headlight in the collision. Witnesses are asked to contact the police station in Dillenburg at the telephone number (02771) 907-0.
Haiger- Accident after drunk driving
In the early hours of Sunday (28.09.2025), a 36-year-old woman was driving her Peugeot from Allendorf towards Haiger. Around 03:20, she veered off the road to the right on the B277 near a company, first hitting a guide post, then the mast of a signpost, and finally coming to a stop in the wire mesh fence of the company. The gray 206 was damaged. The woman from Herborn was slightly injured. Rescue workers took her to a hospital. A blood test was taken from the woman, who was under the influence of alcohol. She will now have to answer for drunk driving. The total damage is estimated at 7,700 euros.
Solms-Albshausen: Break-in at a guesthouse
Between 23:00 on Friday (26.09.2025) and 10:30 on Saturday (27.09.2025), unknown persons broke into a guesthouse on Laubacher Weg. They entered the building through a window, broke open several slot machines, and stole the money. They also took coins and several keys from a cash box. The damage is estimated at around 15,000 euros. The police station in Wetzlar is asking for witness statements at the telephone number (06441) 918-0.
Wetzlar- Drunk driving ends in accident
On Saturday morning (27.09.2025), a 42-year-old man got behind the wheel of his Seat with over two promille and drove off. At around 10:25, the Seat driver wanted to change from the left to the right lane on the Karl-Kellner-Ring. He overlooked a Ford Fiesta driving next to him and touched it. Both cars were damaged, with the police estimating the damage at 4,500 euros. During the accident investigation, the police officers noticed an alcohol smell from the 42-year-old from Wetzlar. He had to go to the station, where a doctor took a blood sample. The Wetzlarer will now face a procedure for drunk driving.
