Hit-and-run in Heusenstamm leaves €11,500 in damage as suspects flee

Police Seek Witnesses After Hit-and-Run in Heusenstamm's Schillerstraße

Authorities are searching for witnesses following a hit-and-run incident in Schillerstraße, Heusenstamm, after a crash on Tuesday afternoon caused an estimated €11,500 in damage. Investigators also discovered that the license plates on the suspect vehicle had been reported stolen.

According to police, a Volvo V70 was traveling along Eisenbahnstraße around 12:25 PM when the driver attempted to turn right onto Schillerstraße. While navigating the curve, the driver—allegedly due to excessive speed—lost control of the car. The vehicle veered off the road to the right and collided with a parked VW Tiguan in a designated parking bay.

Driver and Passenger Flee on Foot

The impact was so severe that it uprooted a traffic sign, including its anchor. Instead of stopping, the driver and passenger abandoned the car and fled on foot toward Heusenstamm train station.

The driver is described as a man between 20 and 25 years old, with short black hair and wearing a light-colored top. His passenger is believed to be of a similar age.

Volvo Found Later Without License Plates

A police patrol located the Volvo V70 around 2:30 PM in Pfortenstraße, near the single-digit house numbers. By then, the license plates had been removed. The vehicle was seized and towed for forensic examination.

Investigators suspect the hit-and-run may be linked to the stolen plates, which had been flagged in police databases.

The accident investigation unit is urging anyone with information about the driver or the incident to come forward by calling 069 8098-5699.
