Plainclothes police officers initiated multiple investigations during checks on Tuesday evening. Around 8 p.m., officers attempted to stop a 21-year-old man from Offenbach near the S-Bahn station Marktplatz. The suspect initially fled but was later apprehended after a brief chase.

During the arrest, police discovered approximately 84 grams of hashish, a small amount of marijuana, cash in denominations consistent with drug sales, and a precision scale. The 21-year-old is now under investigation on suspicion of drug trafficking, among other charges.

According to police, the man violently resisted arrest, repeatedly kicking an officer in the shin. As a result, authorities launched an additional investigation for suspected assault on law enforcement officers.

His companion is also facing scrutiny after officers found a pepper spray device in his possession. Police have opened regulatory proceedings for an alleged violation of weapons laws.

Shortly after midnight, plainclothes officers conducted another check in Bieberer Straße, detaining a 23-year-old man on an outstanding arrest warrant. The suspect avoided custody by paying a €600 fine. Police have announced further operations of this kind.
