On Thursday (25.09), the Fulda police conducted traffic checks in the city center with the focus on 'tuners - speeders - show-offs'. Particular attention was paid to driving at inappropriate speeds. Specially trained police officers checked various vehicles for compliance with regulations and penalized any violations. The goal of such checks is to increase road safety for all road users.

Several patrols were deployed in Fulda. Since the police are repeatedly notified of vehicles that cause disturbances in the area of the enamel factory and surrounding streets through unnecessary maneuvers such as drifting, strong acceleration, and noise pollution, targeted checks were also carried out here. An Audi S3 was found to have technical modifications to its exhaust system that significantly increased noise emissions. The vehicle was impounded for the purpose of creating an expert report.

Results of the checks

A total of 50 cars and motorcycles were checked. In 16 cases, administrative offense proceedings were initiated. Two cases required criminal charges. Technical defects were found in nine cases, with technical modifications to four vehicles resulting in the revocation of their registration and the drivers being prohibited from continuing. Two vehicles were impounded for expert examination of their technical condition.

The Police Headquarters East Hesse will continue these checks and will consistently take action against speeders and show-offs who disturb or endanger others through their driving behavior or modifications to their vehicles.
