Police Arrests Two Men for Unauthorized Presence in Ski Lift Building

Poppenhausen. On Wednesday afternoon (24.09.), the police in Hilders arrested two men in the valley station of a ski lift in the Wasserkuppe area who had allegedly gained unauthorized access to the building through the access door.

Around 17:00, the ski lift operator became aware of the unwanted guests and alerted the police. A patrol from the Hilders police station found two men aged 24 and 25 in the building a few minutes later. Initial investigations revealed that the two unwanted guests had assumed they were visiting a so-called 'lost place'. The police found glasses from the premises in their backpacks and returned them to the owner.

The two young men must now face charges of trespassing, property damage, and theft. The police warn that unauthorized entry into abandoned buildings, especially so-called 'lost places', can lead to serious legal consequences and pose significant safety risks, such as structural defects, unsecured areas, or hazardous substances. The police strongly advise against entering such places without explicit permission.
