Renewal of the Cycle and Pedestrian Bridge Over Scheidtbach (Lerbacher Weg)

Bergisch Gladbach's Beloved Footbridge Gets a Full Makeover in 2026

To improve traffic safety, renovation work will be carried out on the cycle and pedestrian bridge over Scheidtbach, located on the connecting path between Lerbacher Weg and Am Rübezahlwald in Eicherhof, from March 27 to 31, 2026.

The dilapidated wooden bridge will be fully dismantled and replaced on-site with a new structure. As part of the project, minor terrain adjustments will also be made in the immediate vicinity of the bridge.

For the duration of the work, the connecting path will be completely closed to public pedestrian and cycle traffic on the specified dates. The construction site will be properly secured and signposted.

The city of Bergisch Gladbach emphasizes that access to the construction site is prohibited. During the closure, users are advised to take alternative routes. The work is scheduled for completion on March 31, 2026.
