Deutsche Telekom raises prices for older DSL and extra services in 2023

Deutsche Telekom has announced price increases for older DSL contracts and additional services. Customers with agreements signed before April 2023 will see monthly fees rise by €2. The changes also affect MultiSIM and PlusCard users, with some facing higher costs from early 2023.

The first price adjustment took effect on 4 February 2023, when the cost of additional PlusCards rose. The first extra card remains at €19.95, but any further cards now cost €14.95 instead of €9.95. Existing PlusCards keep their old pricing only if customers make no changes to their plans.

From 1 April 2023, paid MultiSIMs will increase from €4.95 to €6.95 per month. Those using the maximum number of MultiSIMs could pay up to €14 more each month. Business customers, however, remain unaffected by these changes. DSL customers with contracts predating April 2023 will also see a €2 monthly rise. Unlike newer plans, these adjustments come without extra benefits or faster speeds. The company has not disclosed how many active DSL customers fall under this category, despite requests from Verivox. Households managing multiple devices or family accounts will feel the impact most. Many will face simultaneous price hikes across several services, increasing their overall monthly bills.

The adjustments mean higher costs for long-term customers, particularly those relying on multiple SIMs or extra cards. While business users avoid the changes, individuals and families will need to budget for the increased fees. Telekom has not provided details on how many customers will be affected by the DSL price rise.
