Households in Willich will see another drop in electricity costs from April 1. The latest reduction brings the standard rate down to 33.84 cents per kilowatt-hour. This follows a series of cuts that have eased bills for residents over recent months. The new rate marks a further decrease of 0.79 cents per kilowatt-hour, taking the total reduction since January to 2.82 cents. Lower procurement costs have driven the latest price adjustment. The German government also supported the reductions with a €6.5 billion allocation from its Climate and Transformation Fund. Energy providers usually review basic supply pricing once a year, but recent volatility in the market has led to more frequent changes. For those seeking even greater savings, a 24-month fixed-term green energy contract is available at 31.61 cents per kilowatt-hour. This option offers stability amid fluctuating market conditions and is roughly 9% cheaper than the new standard rate. Nationally, new customer tariffs averaged 31.63 cents per kilowatt-hour in March 2026, reflecting a broader trend of falling prices due to reduced network charges.
