Yesterday evening (16.9.) at around 18:24, a teenager is said to have held onto a passing train at Wetzlar station. The 14-year-old had a scooter with him. He let himself be pulled along for a short distance on platform 5.
A train attendant witnessed the incident, prompting the federal police to be alerted. A patrol from the federal police station in Gießen then found three teenagers in the area of the platform and contacted their guardians.
Due to the incident, the affected track had to be closed from 18:42 to 18:49. As a result, five trains were delayed by a total of 74 minutes.
A proceeding for an administrative offense has been initiated against the teenager.
The federal police would like to emphasize that holding onto moving trains is extremely dangerous. Even minor driving errors or sudden movements can result in severe, even fatal injuries!
