Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen breaks ground on Wald district's modern new branch

Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen is set to begin construction on a new branch in the Wald district. The project starts with demolition work on 11 May, marking a step toward modernising the bank’s local services. The new site will serve around 12,000 households in the area and manage assets worth over €200 million. Demolition at Deutzerhofstraße will clear the way for a fresh building designed by ASTOC Architects and Planners. The work is scheduled for completion by the end of June, paving the way for construction.

The new branch will sit between Wald Market Square and the Rundling development. Its location aims to place the bank at the centre of the neighbourhood, reinforcing its local presence. Inside, customers can expect a modern advisory space with improved infrastructure and a focus on personalised service.

The bank has framed the project as part of a long-term plan to maintain and upgrade its branch network. By investing in the Wald district, Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen hopes to offer a more customer-focused experience while keeping its services accessible. Once completed, the branch will provide updated facilities for the Wald community. The bank’s commitment to the area includes both modern design and a continued emphasis on face-to-face service. Demolition begins next week, with the full project set to reshape banking in the neighbourhood.
