Her husband, a 39-year-old Romanian man, reported her disappearance from the Bad Camberg service area on the A3 toward Cologne. The incident unfolded after the family had stopped during their journey home from Bavaria.
The couple had earlier paused in Bavaria before continuing their trip. When they reached the Bad Camberg rest area, the wife stepped out of the car but was not seen leaving by either her husband or their 11-year-old son. The boy later told his father that his mother had gone to use the restroom.
The husband searched the area but found no trace of her. Meanwhile, the missing woman approached a Romanian man at the rest stop, who offered her a ride and allowed her to use his phone. This enabled police to establish contact with her. A patrol from the Wiesbaden Highway Police tracked her down on a Romanian tour bus near Hanau. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of several police forces and the help of the Romanian driver, the family was safely reunited. Upon meeting again, the wife reportedly gave her husband a brief scolding before they set off home together. The circumstances surrounding how she went missing remain unclear, with no official determination of fault.
The womanâs safe return followed a swift police response and the kindness of a stranger. After the reunion, the family continued their journey without further incident. Authorities have not released additional details about the events leading to her disappearance.
