Road rage escalates as man brandishes gun at BMW occupants

A 21-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly threatening two people with what appeared to be a firearm during a road rage incident. Police later found a blank-firing gun in his possession and confiscated it as part of their investigation.

The incident began when the suspect, driving a white Cupra Leon, overtook a gray BMW X3 at high speed before suddenly braking in front of it. Inside the BMW were a 58-year-old woman and her 61-year-old passenger. The suspect then pulled alongside the car at a red light and pointed an object resembling a firearm at the occupants.

The BMW driver fled the scene, but the suspect pursued them briefly before returning to his own vehicle. Shortly after, he contacted the police himself and was provisionally arrested. Officers took him to the station for identification and seized his driver’s licence. During the arrest, police discovered and confiscated a blank-firing gun. The suspect now faces allegations of making threats and endangering road traffic.

The 21-year-old remains in custody while investigations continue. His driver’s licence has been suspended, and the confiscated weapon will be examined as part of the case. The two occupants of the BMW were unharmed but reported the incident to authorities.
