Primorsky Krai wages surge as reinsurers earn record 1.9M rubles

Reinsurers in Russia's Primorsky Krai topped the national pay scale this January with an average salary of 1.9 million rubles, according to statistics cited by RIA Novosti.

Reinsurers assume a portion of the risks taken on by primary insurers, sharing liability as defined by contract. If no claims are filed, the reinsurer retains the premiums as profit without incurring losses.

The sector far outpaced other high-earning professions, including workers in Ingushetia's auto, trailer, and semitrailer manufacturing industry, where salaries averaged 836,000 rubles, as well as employees in Sakhalin's oil and natural gas extraction sector, who earned 747,000 rubles.

In the first quarter of 2026, the average wage in Primorsky Krai reached 89,400 rubles—an 8% increase compared to the same period last year. Employers now offer salaries of at least 100,000 rubles for specialists in 75 different professions.
