Motorcyclist critically injured in Kalbach-Heubach intersection crash

Kalbach-Heubach – A serious traffic accident occurred in Kalbach-Heubach on Friday afternoon (September 12) at around 4:30 p.m. An 18-year-old man from the municipality of Kalbach was driving an Audi A3 along Neuweg toward the intersection with State Road (L) 2304. He intended to turn left onto L 2304 in the direction of Heubach.

At the same time, a 43-year-old man from the municipality of Eichenzell was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle along L 2304, approaching from Heubach and heading toward Oberzell. The two vehicles collided in the intersection area. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and sustained severe injuries. After receiving initial emergency treatment, he was airlifted by rescue helicopter to a hospital. The car driver was unharmed.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged, rendered undriveable, and had to be towed. Police estimate the total property damage at approximately €3,000.

L 2304 was completely closed to traffic during the accident investigation and rescue operations.
