Russia's Coin Week Returns: Swap Loose Change for Cash or Rewards

Residents of Kamchatka are invited to take part in the "Coin Week" campaign, which launched on May 20 and is being held nationwide.

Locals can join the initiative by bringing coins to partner banks, where they can exchange them for bills or deposit the funds into their accounts. Russian coins minted from 1997 onward are eligible for exchange. The campaign will run until June 2.

Through efforts like this, coins re-enter circulation, reducing the cost of producing new ones. Last year, Kamchatka residents exchanged over 70,000 coins totaling around 290,000 rubles during "Coin Week."

The exchange is commission-free and has no limits. To deposit funds into an account, participants must be bank customers, while exchanging coins for bills only requires a passport. Residents are advised to sort their coins before visiting the bank.

In Kamchatka, participants can also earn 500 social points for exchanging coins. To do so, they must download the Kamball app, log in, and scan the QR code displayed on banners at the teller windows of partner banks.
