Masked Gang Assaults Resident in Violent Niederweidbach Burglary

A violent burglary took place in Niederweidbach on Wednesday evening, leaving a resident injured and his property stolen. Around 8:10 p.m. on March 18, 2026, a group of masked men broke into an apartment on Hauptstraße under false pretenses. Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.

The incident began when five to six men dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks entered the apartment building. They forced their way into a resident's home, threatening him before physically assaulting him. After the attack, the group stole a roughly 40-inch television and fled the scene.

The Lahn-Dill District Criminal Police have launched an investigation into the burglary. Authorities have confirmed no recent similar incidents in the Mittelhessen region, making this case unusual for the area.
