Marburg-Biedenkopf rocked by burglary, hit-and-run, and traffic chaos in one day

A series of criminal incidents took place across Marburg-Biedenkopf on August 19, 2025. Early that morning, a burglary and theft occurred in Niederwalgern, while later in the day, two separate traffic collisions—including a hit-and-run—were reported on local roads. Police are now investigating the cases and searching for witnesses or suspects. The first incident happened between 2:00 AM and 2:15 AM in Niederwalgern. Several unknown individuals entered private property, stole a drink, and attempted to break into a parked VW Tiguan. They also took a bicycle before fleeing the scene. Two suspects were later described: one aged 20–30, slim, with black curly hair shaved on the sides, a dark beard, and a dark tracksuit featuring light vertical stripes on the lower legs, paired with black-and-white sneakers. The second was around 170–175 cm tall, slim, with short dark hair and a full dark beard.

Later that day, between 9:50 AM and 11:10 AM, a gray Mercedes-Benz sedan was sideswiped while parked on Im Lichtenholz street in Marburg. The collision caused roughly €500 in damage to the vehicle. In the evening, around 5:25 PM, a hit-and-run took place on the B62 between Biedenkopf and Breidenstein. A black BMW sedan crossed into oncoming traffic while navigating a left-hand curve, forcing a white Opel Corsa to swerve right and scrape against a guardrail. The crash resulted in approximately €6,000 in damage to the Opel. The at-fault driver, who fled the scene, was reportedly in a black Mercedes convertible with yellow or gold rims and a license plate from the Marburg-Biedenkopf district (MR).

Authorities are now piecing together the events from August 19, 2025, and have called on the public for information. The burglary suspects remain unidentified, while the hit-and-run driver is still at large. Anyone with details about the incidents is urged to contact local police.
