Stadtallendorf: Regional traffic service examines E-scooters

On Monday (22.09.2025), the Regional Traffic Service Marburg-Biedenkopf, together with colleagues from the Stadtallendorf police station, the university from Wiesbaden, and the Stadtallendorf public order office, conducted checks on E-scooters in Stadtallendorf. During the checks, officers found two E-scooters that could reach speeds of over 20 km/h. The respective drivers now face charges, among other things, for driving without a license. Additionally, officers noticed three E-scooters being ridden by children, although the minimum age is 14 years. Officers from the Stadtallendorf station took the children and their E-scooters home and spoke to their parents. Furthermore, a pedelec caught the attention of the traffic experts. A closer inspection revealed that it could reach a speed of 47 km/h due to a technical manipulation. Proceedings were initiated against the driver, who was allowed to continue his journey without the battery. However, the officers were not only focused on enforcing traffic regulations when an officer from the Stadtallendorf police station recognized a passing children's scooter that had recently been reported stolen. The check confirmed that it was indeed the scooter in question. Further investigations into this case were taken over by the Stadtallendorf investigation group.
