  1. Overloading in focus - Highway 45 / Neuberg

(cb) On Wednesday, traffic inspectors focused on the possible overloading of trucks. Overloading can significantly increase the braking distance of vehicles and thus the risk for all road users. The traffic specialists set up a control point with a mobile vehicle scale on the Pfingstweide parking lot on Highway 45 in the direction of Aschaffenburg. Over several hours, the officers led a total of 16 vehicles to the control point. Here, extensive vehicle and personal checks as well as the somewhat time-consuming vehicle weighings took place. During the checks, they repeatedly found the overloading of the respective vehicle, violations of social regulations, and the Goods Transport Act and punished them accordingly. The balance of the day: Violations were found in 43 percent of the vehicles inspected. The police will continue to pay attention to commercial traffic and carry out further targeted controls.
