Halle (Saale) tourism surges in early 2026 despite regional decline
Halle (Saale) has seen a notable rise in tourism at the start of 2026. Visitor arrivals climbed by 4.2% in January and February compared to the same period last year. The city also recorded a 3.9% increase in overnight stays during these months. The growth comes as Halle (Saale) bucks a wider trend of falling visitor numbers across the state. While many destinations struggled, the city maintained its appeal, continuing the positive momentum from 2025.
Mark Lange, Managing Director of Stadtmarketing Halle GmbH, welcomed the figures. His comments highlighted the city’s ongoing efforts to attract tourists and strengthen its reputation as a desirable location.
The early 2026 data confirms Halle (Saale) as a standout performer in regional tourism. With both arrivals and overnight stays up, the city has reinforced its position as a key destination. Officials now look to sustain this growth throughout the year.
