Fulda District launches rural care initiative to strengthen local support networks

A new initiative in Fulda District aims to improve care and support services for residents in rural areas. Mayor Ronny Günkel recently met with two key advisors to discuss expanding information and counselling options. The project is backed by state funding and focuses on better networking between local authorities and family centres. Mayor Günkel held talks with Christina Marg, a social counselling advisor at the Fulda District Care Support Center, and Paula Müller, a representative of the Nursing Competence Center. Both specialists shared details on upcoming events and essential resources for those in need of care, their families, and individuals at risk of requiring assistance.

The Care Support Center provides tailored guidance to help people navigate care services. The state-funded project seeks to create a decentralised advisory system, ensuring better access to support across Fulda District. By strengthening ties with family centres and local municipalities, the initiative aims to build a more connected and responsive network.

The discussions highlighted the need for improved information flow in rural communities. The new system will offer clearer guidance and more accessible services for residents. Funding from the state of Hesse will help sustain these efforts in the long term.
