German Man Arrested After Fatal Kicks to Head in Marburg Assault

A 33-year-old German man has been arrested in connection with a fatal assault in Marburg. The victim died after suffering repeated kicks to the head in the early hours of August 13, 2025. Police are now searching for a witness who may hold crucial information about the attack.

The incident took place in Marburg’s Moischt district during the early morning of August 13. The victim sustained a severe traumatic brain injury from multiple forceful kicks and later died. Investigators believe the attack occurred around 5:25 a.m. on Hirtengarten Street.

A special task force was formed to examine the circumstances of the crime. On August 22, 2025, officers arrested the 33-year-old suspect. The following day, he appeared before a judge, who issued a warrant for pretrial detention. Authorities are now appealing for help from the driver of a dark-coloured car seen in the area at the time. The witness, who has not yet come forward, could provide vital details about the events leading up to the assault.

The arrested man remains in custody while the investigation continues. Police have urged the driver of the dark vehicle to contact the criminal police in Marburg immediately. The case is being treated as a homicide, with further updates expected as the inquiry progresses.
